SLC and YCC Granted Gold Awards in the United Airlines Safety Excellence Program

ST. LOUIS, MO, USA – March 8, 2018 – Airport Terminal Services (ATS) is proud to be part of two United Airlines Safety Excellence Program award-winning teams. Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and Calgary International Airport (YYC) were both granted Gold Awards marking consecutive years without employee lost-time injuries or aircraft damage. YYC is the first station between Canada and the Caribbean to achieve Gold status.

The Safety Excellence Program is a United Airlines program that creates a partnership between management and labor with a goal of ultimately reducing injuries and aircraft damages. While all locations are encouraged to participate, only sites that meet specific outlined criteria will be granted a Silver, Gold or Platinum award.

“I am very proud of the ATS teams in both SLC and YYC,” says Brian Wood, ATS Vice President, Operations and Customer Service. “We are thrilled to be part of the United Airlines team in these locations providing below-the-wing services in SLC and full services in YYC. What I am most proud of, is the long-term consistency it takes to get to the gold level of this program.”

ATS handles numerous ramp and customer service operations for United Airlines and has been a partner in SLC and YYC for 4 years.

“Working hand-in-hand with ATS to stay focused on keeping each other, our assets and everyone we serve safe is key to our success,” said Vice President of Corporate Safety at United Airlines Michael Quiello. “Safety is our top priority at United Airlines. With strong partners like ATS and the role they play in United’s Core4 service framework, they work closely together with United to improve operational efficiency and excellence, allowing us to better serve our customers and employees.”
